Kinetic Spatial Boundary — ARL-002

This is a modern architectural textile, not a traditional indigo noren.

HAWA’s Kinetic Spatial Boundary is a precisely engineered panel that introduces controlled movement and shifting light into contemporary spaces. It functions as a quiet yet dynamic interface between structure and atmosphere.

[ Logic and Craft ]
Each panel is built using our original Resist Logic on 100% fine Japanese cotton. Multiple layers of natural precipitated indigo are applied through the chemical vat method, creating a deep, structural blue that evolves with time and light.

[ Behavior in Space ]
The panels respond gently to airflow and changing natural light. Joined only at the top 10 cm, each strip moves independently while preserving geometric precision. In concrete or minimalist interiors, this produces a calm yet alive atmosphere — where stillness and subtle movement coexist.

[ Specifications ]
• Material: 100% fine Japanese cotton
• Dyeing: Natural precipitated indigo (chemical vat method)
• Dimensions: 37 cm × 150 cm per panel
• Structure: Panels joined only at the top 10 cm, allowing independent movement
• Hanging: Continuous rod pocket at the top for architectural systems

[ Architectural Projects & Custom Inquiries ]

For large-scale installations (10+ panels), bespoke dimensions, or professional architectural integration, please select the "Request for Project Dialogue" button above.

This link leads to our dedicated project portal, designed specifically for architects and professional designers. Upon entry, you will find a pre-filled template allowing you to share your Project Context (e.g., hospitality, office, or private residential), required installation scale, and project timeline. We provide tailored kinetic solutions to seamlessly integrate our Spatial Boundary systems into your unique architectural vision.

[ Origin ]
Handcrafted in Minamiizu, Japan. Due to the organic nature of cotton and hand dyeing, subtle variations occur between pieces.

■ Physical Verification : BLUEPRINT OF THE BLUE

To assess the true depth of the natural precipitated indigo and the precise texture of the substrate under your specific architectural lighting, we provide a physical verification module.

■ Spatial Simulation (AR) and Lighting Conditions

To verify the physical scale and light transmittance that the Kinetic Spatial Boundary brings to an actual architectural space, please utilize the implemented AR functionality.

Note: The AR spatial simulation is exclusively available on smartphone and tablet devices. If you are browsing on a PC, please access this page via a mobile device to conduct the verification.

Note: This AR model specifically simulates the material's behavior under "Backlit" (Transmitted Light) conditions, assuming natural or architectural lighting originates from behind the panels. Please use this as an engineering reference to verify how the textile filters light. To confirm the color and texture under direct front lighting, please refer to the static images within the media gallery.

■ AR Navigation Guide: Selecting the Configuration

Currently, this work is available in configurations from [ 2 to 10 panels ]. The AR data for each configuration is stored sequentially as 3D models (indicated by a cube icon) after the static images in the media gallery.

1. Selection: Select the AR-dedicated slide that follows the static images in the media gallery. The cube icon located in the top left corner of the screen serves as the indicator for the AR data. Please select the icon corresponding to your desired panel count.

2. Launch AR: Tap the icon to verify the full-scale dimensions and transmittance within your space.

3. Spatial Verification: Instantly simulate the functionality as an "Architectural Interface" dividing the space with multiple panels on your device.
